A Sustainable Journey in Tinos
Creative Expression & Yoga Retreat

Welcome to the first edition of our creative expression through nature Retreat

Messaria, Tinos, Cyclades | September 26-30, 2025

Limited places of up to 10 participants.

This retreat blends sustainable fabric dyeing with the tranquility of yoga, offering a space for creativity, mindfulness, and deep connection with nature.

September in Tinos is a celebration of color and tradition. As the island glows with golden fields, deep olive greens, and the soft blues of the Aegean, it also welcomes the grape harvest season. Guests will visit a local winery, explore the winemaking process, and enjoy a guided tasting paired with traditional Tinian flavors—an experience that captures the essence of the island.

Natural Dyeing Workshops

During these days, you will have the opportunity to dye your very own items to take home, using 100% organic Greek fabrics and learn in detail three different fabric dyeing techniques. Guided by Theodora, the founder and artist behind the Greek slow fashion brand The Botanical Project, you will explore the art of natural dyeing. We will use plants harvested exclusively from the Greek countryside, as well as from a home garden in Western Greece, cultivated specifically for The Botanical Project’s natural dyeing workshops.

Yoga Practice

In this retreat, yoga will harmonize body and mind, while sustainable fabric dyeing practices will connect you with nature’s creativity. Through a range of eco-friendly techniques, you’ll explore mindfulness both on the mat and through the art of transforming textiles in an environmentally conscious way.

OUR ISLAND HOME |Under the Linden Tree

Under the Linden Tree stands gracefully on the island, paying homage to the centuries-old linden tree at the heart of the estate—the only one of its kind on the island! Surrounded by an orange grove, an olive grove, a young vineyard, a winery, an artichoke field, and a vegetable garden, Under the Linden Tree is a small earthly paradise, nestled among trees, lily ponds, and freshwater springs.

History

Located across from the imposing granite hill of Exombourgo—the Venetian capital of the island from 1207 to 1715—this estate maintains a deep connection to the island’s ancient, Venetian, and Ottoman history. The Ursuline nuns founded their monastery here in 1862, cultivating the lands of Under the Linden Tree to grow fresh fruits and vegetables that supplied their renowned Ursuline School and Boarding House for Girls.

Sustainability

Under the Linden Tree is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint through organic farming, solar energy use, and responsible water management. Guests can enjoy COCO-MAT mattresses made from natural materials, organic and locally produced soaps, daily harvests from the estate’s organic orchard, and a curated selection of Greek organic skincare products—all in alignment with its dedication to sustainability.
